Here's a selection of my pots from the 75th firing of
the salt-glaze kiln. Each firing has its own character, this one produced
particularly luxurious surfaces and consistently breathtaking quality. |

Joseph
Sand and his Preview pots.
These are just a few of the wonderful pots that Joseph made
this go round, including a batch of charming mugs commemorating
the 75th Firing. Beautiful! |

Alex Matisse and
his Preview pots.
Alex is off to a great start, quickly adapting to new techniques and
materials, and has produced many sweet pots and fabulous decorations. Well
done Alex!

Eryn Prospero and her Preview pots.
Eryn's visit from Nelson,
British Columbia has been all too short. She's made some adorable
pots, including many exquisite miniatures, and we'll miss
her effervescent spirit. Best of luck Eryn! |

Before each kiln opening we need to clean all the pots, sanding
rough spots, smoothing burrs, giving them a final polish before washing
them and setting them on the shelves in the barn. Over the years
Susan Willard from Raleigh and Terry Childress from Carthage have
been regular pot cleaners, and this time Chad Brown, a talented
young potter working in Seagrove, also joined us. Thanks to
all! |
